11 Movie Scenes Only Shot For The Trailer

10. Quantum Of Solace

Austin Powers

After Casino Royale reinvigorated the James Bond franchise, it looked like 007's future was in safe hands. Unfortunately, the follow-up, Quantum of Solace, failed to leave the same impact. (Also, the title still makes no sense, even after 15 years.) Unlike its predecessor, Quantum of Solace lacked a gripping story, innovative action, compelling characters, or witty banter.

If you haven't seen this dud since its release, you probably can't recall much about it, save for the iconic shot of Bond marching up a rocky hill, armed with an assault rifle. Whatever gripes you have with Quantum of Solace, you can't deny this is an awesome visual. This clip was received so positively, it featured in almost every teaser, promo, tv spot, and also served as an early poster for the film.

The image is ingrained so deeply in our minds, it's easy to forget it never appears in the movie itself. This badass moment was dreamt up for the pre-release marketing for Quantum of Solace, purely to stir up interest. It totally worked, since many people remember this shot better than the movie.
