11 Movie Scenes Only Shot For The Trailer

After Aliens made a killing at the box office, the studio got to work on a follow-up. When William Gibson was hired to pen a script the following year, it looked like Alien 3 would be out in no time.

Instead, this threequel endured the most chaotic production imaginable. Because of the ever-changing script and the revolving door of directors, Alien 3 was delayed for years. Since it was taking forever to come together, the studio worried fans would lose interest in the franchise, compelling them to rush out a trailer, even though no footage had been shot.

The initial teaser for Alien 3 was brief, but it got everyone pumped. In this clip, we watch an Ovomorph egg hatching over the Earth, implying the Xenomorphs would be invading our planet this time. Upon hearing the narrator utter the line, "On Earth, everyone can hear you scream," you can imagine moviegoers at the time getting hyped.

At least, that was the idea. After Gibson's script was thrown out, the story was drastically changed, so Alien 3 took place on a different world. Although there have been many misleading film promotions, this might be the only teaser which flat-out lied about the story.
