11 Movies That Were Far Better Than They Had Any Right To Be

10. Zombieland (2009)

ZombielandWhy It Had No Right To Be Any Good: Jumping On The "Funny Zombies" Bandwagon Granted, I'm not sure that anybody thought Zombieland was going to suck entirely, but there were a lot of detractors around before it actually went into theatres, many of who were saying things like "they couldn't even get Michael Cera," and "Woody Harrelson is really scraping the barrel with this, huh?" I was one of them. What emerged, though, was a fresh, hilarious and genuinely smart take on the zombie movie. Who'd have thought? It might have been fair to judge this book by its cover, though: Zombieland started life as a TV show pitch that everybody thought would work better as a movie (polite way of saying that nobody wanted it), only for it to find itself transformed into a feature film, and now, uh, back into a TV show (which sucks). Star turns here from Jesse Eisenberg and Emma Stone (who were launched to fame), and the best Bill Murray cameo this side of a Garfield reference.
