6. Tom Hiddleston As Loki

Amidst a sea of brilliant individual performances and an ever-growing number of great movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Tom Hiddleston's Loki stands out as one of the surprise highlights of the entire continuity thus far, which is really saying something.

This Loki has shown signs of good and clear signs of evil - perfectly wavering on the brink of being both a good guy and a despicable villain - having been the antagonist that led an alien army in an invasion of Earth and fought alongside Thor on the side of good. Hiddleston portrays this beautifully, demonstrating Loki's cunning and manipulative nature, whilst also conveying a sinister physical threat by way of his magic and combat prowess.

So far, Loki has appeared in Thor (a movie that he completely stole), the Avengers movie and the Thor sequel, The Dark World. Having somewhat redeemed himself for a time in the latter movie, he now falsely sits on the throne of Asgard and it will be interesting to see exactly how he conveys that role in the future.
