11 Perfect Casting Choices That Made Comic Book Movies
7. Hugh Jackman As Wolverine
Wolverine has undoubtedly been the flagship character in the X-Men movie series - and, as much as we might now starting to tire of having him thrust in our faces in pretty much every movie, there's no denying that Hugh Jackman has been absolutely fantastic in the role and absolutely pivotal in the movies' success. When Jackman was first cast for the original X-Men film in the year 2000, he was a little-known actor from Australia who many people scoffed at and said wasn't big enough for the role (as an actor, not physically - if anything, he was too big in comparison to the somewhat stumpy comic book version of the character). Seven movies later (including his brief and abrupt cameo in X-Men: First Class), and with more appearances as the hero still to come, those people have been forced to eat their words. Jackman's raw portrayal has perfectly brought to life every trait of the Wolverine character - from his animalistic nature to his protectiveness of characters like Rogue - and he has become a household name and huge draw as a result.
