11 Perfectly Obvious Casting Choices Hollywood Is Ignoring

2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt As Nightwing

Jgl As Nightwing Joseph Gordon-Levitt did not play Robin in Dark Knight Rises: his birth name may have been Robin but that was no more than a superficial nod to the fans, as has been stated numerous time by Gordon-Levitt and, perhaps more definitely, Christopher Nolan. But that doesn't mean he wouldn't make the perfect Nightwing. Gordon-Levitt could not have been Batman, no matter what the end of Rises might infer. Batman/Bruce Wayne is a big guy, large framed, mature, barrel chested, and square jawed, even in his youngest form, while Nightwing/Dick Grayson on the other hand is an acrobat - fit, trim, lean, and youthful. As far as a physical match is concerned Joseph Gordon-Levitt could certainly fill those tights without them sagging or running. JGL also has the wit to quip in tense moment of derring-do and additionally can pull off Dick Grayson's reputation as a second-generation Lothario in the DC Universe; he's certainly good-looking and charismatic enough. And in another pleasant parallel, Levitt has had to face the tumultuous task of breaking out of being a child actor, an experience that should equip him well with the idea of Nightwing's efforts to become more than just Batman's former sidekick. As one of the rising leading men in Hollywood, he could help bring the original Robin into adulthood in the mind of the general public.
