You may not be as familiar with Maggie Sawyer as you should be, but in the DC Universe she is a cop with an impressive resume. She's handled beats in Gotham and in Metropolis, meaning she's toughened by the rogues gallery of both Batman and Superman, and she's lived to tell the tale. In short, she's tough as nails, to the quick, and decisive, and if anyone was going to play the spartan, short cropped blonde it has to be Jane Lynch. Lynch is known for playing characters - either serious or totally zany - that are completely focused, competent, and take no-nonsense. Some of her roles might lack humility - to a comical degree in Glee for instance - but she has exactly the right look, and the right tough demeanour to play the role. As DC is continuing to expand the cast and universe of its upcoming Man Of Steel 2, what better addition to a world where Laurence Fishbourne is Perry White than a high profile Maggie Sawyer? She could even be carried over to the world of Gotham where she could play prominently in the rise of the Batwoman.
