What The Haters Think: "DC are so desperate to copy Marvel's template that they're going to rush into it, and the results will be thoroughly mediocre." Why They're Wrong: Batman v Superman was first announced in July 2013, and though a 2014 release date was sought, it was eventually delayed twice and then pushed forward once to its final March 25, 2016 date. While the delays may suggest to some that the project isn't on track, Warner's official statement declares that it was to give the filmmakers "time to realize fully their vision, given the complex visual nature of the story". Though for some movies this is doublespeak for "the movie is a disaster and we're trying to save it in the edit" (see: Jupiter Ascending), given the movie's effects-heavy nature, it sounds like this is merely extra time to ensure Warner gets such a vital project right. After all, given how important the film is in setting up the DC Cinematic Universe, it's absolutely vital that they take their time and have the opportunity to make the movie they want to make. Otherwise, what's the point? Which side of the Batman v Superman debate do you fall down on? Shout it out in the comments!
