11 Reshoots That Actually Improved Movies

2. Mad Max: Fury Road

Mad Max Fury Road
Warner Bros.

The Reshoot: Warner Bros. originally didn't believe that Fury Road required its bookending scenes at the Citadel, and instructed Miller to shoot the film without them.

After he returned with a heap of glorious footage to show the studio, they were so impressed that they allowed Miller to shoot these additional scenes and also beef up the action sequences.

How It Improved The Movie: The results speak for themselves: Miller proved beyond any and all doubt that it was the right call to believe in his filmmaking skill, and Warner as such allowed him to deliver one of the greatest action movies ever made.

Would it have still been a great movie without the reshoots? Probably, but this concession by Warner took it to the next level and granted it a place among the classics.
