11 Reshoots That Actually Improved Movies

1. The Avengers

Mad Max Fury Road
Marvel Studios

The Reshoot: This is about as late in the day as reshoots possibly get. On April 12, 2012, one day after the movie's world premiere, Joss Whedon went back months after filming concluded and shot an additional post-credits tag, featuring The Avengers eating shawarma following the Battle of New York.

How It Improved The Movie: It may ultimately be an incredibly frivolous addition to the film, albeit a hilarious one that's been much-discussed and praised since the film's release.

It's not substantial in the slightest, but considering that audiences are pretty much conditioned to expect something important from these latent scenes, it was a smart subversion for it to be something so simple and down-to-Earth. Plus, how often do you ever even get to see superheroes grabbing some food in their downtime?

Which movie reshoots do you think were the most effective? Shout them out in the comments!
