2. Joseph Gordon-Levitt
The rumours putting the Dark Knight Rises actor in the lead for consideration as Strange have been around for some time Latino Review apparently scooped it back in 2013, but have moved on to new rumours since and though they're slightly unexpected, they're still very intriguing. Gordon-Levitt might well be too big of a star right now to fit Marvel's usual approach to casting, but what he does have is unexpectedness. Others on this list - including the top billed star would be far easier fits for the role, but that might well be too safe for the studio who cast Robert Downey Jnr. It's obvious from his CV that Gordon-Levitt likes a challenge if he didn't, he would surely have swerved Premium Rush like a bike messenger in high traffic and that he enjoys diversity in his performances. If Marvel go for a younger Strange who hasn't yet discovered the true extent of his powers, the best man for the job would unquestionably be Gordon-Levitt.
