Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of watching this movie nowadays is its oddball third-act subplot in which Bond teams up with the Afghan Mujahideen to take on the Soviets.

Post-9/11, this has caused many to flippantly mock the movie for featuring Bond teaming up with "the Taliban", though there is a world of practical difference between the Mujahideen of the 1980s and the Taliban they're popularly known as today.

Even so, the subplot - which sees Bond donning Mujahideen garb to help their cause - does unfortunately date the film somewhat and make it a bit of an awkward sit these days.
