11 Things You Learn Rewatching The Living Daylights
10. Timothy Dalton Is A Refreshingly Serious Bond
As mentioned, Timothy Dalton is something of a divisive James Bond, in large part because he only ever had the chance to star in two outings as 007, and his performance was a stark contrast from the popular silliness of the Moore era.
However, for those who appreciate the change of mood, Dalton is a fantastic accompaniment. Stern and ruthless yet still effusing enough of that suave Bond charm, he's not quite the compromise between goofy-and-edgy you might expect, and instead a far more daring reinvention of the screen icon.
With his dashing looks, fierce brutality and no-nonsense approach to the mission at hand, he couldn't be much different from Moore. After slogging through seven movies starring an increasingly decrepit and tiresome Moore, Dalton feels like a massive breath of fresh air.
