10. Dr. David Jordan - Life

Cause Of Death: Eaten alive.

Life ends with the twist revelation that Dr. David Jordan's (Jake Gyllenhaal) escape pod actually crash-landed on Earth, with a fleet of Vietnamese fishermen quickly venturing to check out its contents.

Unfortunately, David is trapped inside with Calvin, the fast-growing alien creature which has encased David in a grotesque web-like substance, presumably in order to prevent him from stopping the fisherman entering the pod.

Needless to say, there's no version of this story where David isn't devoured by Calvin at some point, most likely when the alien escapes from the pod and continues its rampage on Earth.

Ultimately it's extremely likely that a good portion of humanity - if not the entire human race - is wiped out by Calvin, but it all starts with David.
