Crime: Assault Served: 45 days (sentenced for two years) Although his choice of project is sometimes questionable, Mark Wahlberg is one of the worlds biggest movie stars. Before career-making turns in the likes of Boogie Nights, Wahlberg was best known by the alias Marky Mark, the lead singer of hip-hop singer Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. Starting out in music at the age of thirteen in older brother Donnies New Kids On The Block, Wahlberg succumbed to the usual troubles that haunt young stars; drugs and violence. All this reached a head in 1987 when he separately attacked two Vietnamese men, blinding one. He was charged attempted murder, but ended up pleading guilty to assault and got sentenced to two years jail time, of which he only served little over a month. This proved a life-changing moment, with the time in jail making Marky Mark realise that the thug life really wasnt for him, kicking off an inspiring reform story.
