12 Actors Who Are About To Make A Huge Comeback
4. Patrick Dempsey
When Patrick Dempsey left Grey's Anatomy, he could probably have worked a lot in movies or similarly large TV shows, but the rigorous schedule of making that show turned him off the idea of such intensive work. He expressed his desire to produce, to dedicate more time to motor-racing and to look after his family.
He's done SOME work since - most notably in the delightful Bridget Jones's Baby, but he's mostly been away from the screen. That will change when the MGM produced adaptation of best-selling novel The Truth About the Harry Quebert Affair - in which he plays the titular character who is accused of murder - comes to screens.
Its distribution in the US is unclear, but it's set to debut on Epix and will be shown on Sky Witness in the UK as a flagship show. If it's anywhere near as good as the book, it could be a low-key contender to be the next Big Little Lies and it should do wonders for Dempsey's return.
