Harris Dickinson is best known for his widely acclaimed performance in the 2017 indie hit Beach Rats and, er, a totally forgettable turn as Prince Phillip in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil earlier this year.

But 2020 will allow Dickinson to have his cake and eat it by appearing in both a major blockbuster film and also one of the most anticipated arthouse works of the year.

In the tentpole stakes, Dickinson will play the young protagonist of Kingsman prequel The King's Man, and it goes without saying that leading a cast including Ralph Fiennes, Gemma Arterton, Rhys Ifans, Daniel Brühl, Djimon Hounsou, Charles Dance, and many more should raise his star profile significantly. If the movie's good, this could very well be his own Taron Egerton moment.

More modestly, the actor has also filmed a role in the upcoming drama The Souvenir Part II, a sequel to Joanna Hogg's widely acclaimed relationship study released earlier this year.

It of course remains to be seen whether or not The King's Man will be a return to form for the series after The Golden Circle was a bit of a hot mess, but Dickinson's certainly got his bases covered between these two polar opposite films.
