9. Bill Skarsgård- It
Like Tom Taylor in The Dark Tower, this is another juicy role for a young actor courtesy of the work of Stephen King.
Pennywise, the supernatural psychotic clown from King's It, has been a fixture in people's nightmare's for quite some time. The character was memorably and terrifyingly brought to life by Tim Curry in the 1990 miniseries based off of King's book. That performance was iconic to many, but now Bill Skarsgård will be stepping into the creepy clown shoes and attempt to haunt the dreams of a new generation.
Skarsgård has a fairly long filmography for a 26-year-old, including the horror series Hemlock Groove, but It will be his biggest role to date. Pennywise is a great horror creation and to have an relatively unknown actor taking over the role seems to suggest Skarsgård has something special to bring to the role.
It may not be one of the most anticipated films of the year, but there are a good number of horror fans who are eager to see how this adaptation will turn out. If Skarsgård's performance lives up to the production images we've seen so far, we could be looking at a new horror icon.
