8. Ansel Elgort- Baby Driver
Ansel Elgort's star has been on the rise for several years now, but he has yet to break out of the teen heartthrob niche. He's appeared in the increasingly irrelevant Divergent series, as well as some more serious fare like The Fault in Our Stars and Men, Women & Children. 2017 could be the year he becomes a legitimate leading man thanks a writer-director by the name of Edgar Wright.
Baby Driver, Wright's first film since dropping out of Ant-Man, sees Elgort playing a getaway driver drawn in a bank heist that's doomed to fail. While it might sound like a movie we've seen before, coming from Wright, you can be sure it will be anything but familiar. The film features a stellar cast including Jon Hamm, Jamie Foxx and Kevin Spacey, but it's Elgort that leads the pact. While his previous roles haven't exactly proven that he's capable of carrying a movie like this, Scott Pilgrim vs the World showed that Wright has a keen eye for young talent.
Many movie fans have high hopes for this film and Wright has yet to let them down. If the material is anything like Wright's other efforts, Elgort should be able to waltz right into the next level of fame.
