12 Awesome Movie Trailers That Gave Away Nothing

2. Terminator 2: Judgement Day

Widely regarded as one of the best movie trailers ever made, the short, seventy-five second tease for Terminator 2 is so ridiculously awesome it's almost essential watching with the film itself. Detailing the creation of a T-800 from metal skeleton to full on Schwarzenegger, it's a technical marvel, perfectly capturing the future glimpsed in the first film (everything's still blue) and boasting a high level of polish. It even adds its own little bit the the continuity, introducing the idea that the Terminator design (T-800) and the model number for the skin exoskeleton (101) are two distinct codes. But far and above the best thing about is that it does nothing to ruin the film. The T-1000? Not there. Any mention of changing the future? Not to be seen. The good guy Terminator? You wish. The current status of Sarah and John Connor? Don't make us laugh. It's a teaser in the very best sense, telling us Arnie and the series will be back without even confirming if the film will be in anyway similar to the original; is the plot to kill John pre-revolution still on the cards? Even knowing the film like the back of a metal hand, it still manages to build excitement. Compare this to upcoming sequel/reboot Terminator: Genisys, which has recently announced its general plot over eight months before release. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HgV7-MJwUBw
