7. House Of Re-Animator
When it comes to horror films there seems to be some sort of rule which states each sequel must be more ridiculous and outlandish then the one before. This does not always work out for the best, but sometimes, on a rare occasion a speck of brilliance can emerge within the over the top concept. As would have been the case with the planned fourth installment in the Re-Animator film series. Over the course of President George W. Bushs eight year run as head of state a popular theme in entertainment was mocking the commander and chief, and Stuart Gordons House of Re-Animator would've been no different. Allegedly a script had been written as a satire the Bush administration where everyones favorite mad-scientist Dr. Herbert West is summoned to the White House to re-animate the Vice President. The film would eventually see the White House over run by Wests zombies coming to an end where Hurbert would take control of the Untied States of America. If thats not enough for you, this fourth film was meant to be the beginning of a new Re-Animator trilogy. The first planned sequel Re-Animator : Unbound would have had Dr. West going head to head with the Old Ones of Lovecraft fame, and a final installment entitled Re-Animator : Begins would see a brainwashed West revisiting Miskatonic university to continue his research. Sadly Gordan couldnt raise the funds before the Bush administration ended, and once George Dubba left office House of Re-Animator was shelved.
