6. Bubba Nosferatu: Curse Of The She-Vampire
Joe R. Lansdale may be one of the finest writers of our generation. Yet to many the mojo story tellers work is fairly unknown. With the exception of the Don Coscarelli directed Bubba Ho-Tep. The film began an instant cult classic and its easy to see why. Staring none other than the king of cult, Bruce Campbell as the king of rock and roll, Elvis Presley. Who has spent the time since his alleged death living in a rest home. Elvis teams up with JFK whos skin was dyed black by the government after they faked his death. Together the two must do battle with an evil mummy. The end of this film suggested that Elvis would return in Bubba Nosferatu: Curse of the She-Vampires. This was intended as a joke, however thanks to positive fan support Coscarelli became interested in the possibility of a follow up film. This second installment would have most likely been a prequel centered on the production of a lost Elvis movie from the 1950s or 1960s. Bruce Campbell had planned on returning, and Paul Giamatti had thrown his hat into the running to play Elvis manager Colonel Tom Parker. Though after the film failed to move past the idea stages Campbell dropped out but Giamatti and Coscarelli still hold out hope. At one point Ron Pearlman was in talks to take up the mantel of the King, and even though since 2009 talks have died down there is always hope, and maybe one day the king will re-enter the building.
