12 Awesome Summer 2018 Movies You Probably Missed
5. Calibre
If there was an award for the best Netflix movie nobody's actually seen - and Netflix is entirely to blame for failing to promote their cult content - it'd surely go to white-knuckle Scottish thriller Calibre.
An extremely discomforting film about two young men (Jack Lowden and Martin McCann) who get involved in a hunting trip gone awry, Calibre is an exercise in slow-mounting anxiety, and honestly, it's probably best going in knowing as little as possible.
Know that Lowden and McCann give exceptional performances in the focal roles, while director Matt Palmer makes the harsh Scottish wilderness a character in of itself.
Considering a movie like this would have precious little marketability in cinemas, it's kinda perfect for the streaming giant. They probably should've sent out a few tweets about it rather than just dispassionately dumping it in the middle of the summer, though.
