Yes, the director and star of Argo may no longer be inhabiting the caped crusader's iconic super suit (good luck taking his place, Twilight), but for better or worse Battfleck was an instrumental part of the DCEU. The aging Gone Girl star made up for his first superhero outing in 2003’s Daredevil by lending some gravitas to Gotham’s finest, but that sense of wizened experience didn’t come from nowhere.

No, Affleck more than earned his taciturn stare thanks to years of flops wiping the once cocksure grin from his face, whether it was Surviving Christmas, Hollywoodland, the underrated Jersey Girl, or this disaster from Midnight Run helmer Martin Brest.

A wildly misjudged crime comedy, this flick became an ostensibly romantic vehicle for then-real life couple Affleck and J. Lo, and the pair’s laughable lack of chemistry sank this already convoluted flick faster than laughing critics could disbelievingly utter “It’s turkey time… Gobble gobble.”
