12 Awful Films DCEU Actors Want You To Forget

6. David Thewlis – Regression

There’s a great film to be made of the McMartin preschool trials, the controversial case wherein countless preschool age kids were convinced via quack pseudo-psychology that their teachers were Satan-worshipping ritual abusers, with some innocent souls even ending up wrongfully imprisoned before the moral panic passed and society regained its sanity. Maybe it could come from the creators of the devastating Paradise Lost documentary series, since those traffic in similar themes?

Or you know, The Others’ helmer Alejandro Amenabar could blow all the goodwill that atmospheric chiller netted him by making a slow, boring, and tasteless psycho-thriller blatantly based on the stories and hiring usual solid talents such as Sinister’s Ethan Hawke and Wonder Woman villain David Thewlis to play the moody professionals trying to untangle this moronic mystery?

Regression mercifully flopped upon its 2015 release, meaning not too many cinemagoers had the displeasure of sitting through this ill-considered misstep.
