12 Awful Films MCU Actors Want You To Forget
1. Chris Hemsworth - Red Dawn
Maybe the most impressively misjudged entry on this
list, this flick crashed and burned at the box office upon its release in 2012
despite starring a who’s who of up and coming stars such as Thor’s Chris
Hemsworth, The Hunger Games’ Josh Hutcherson, and… The Wackness’ Josh Peck? Whatever,
it’s an underrated gem.
So why didn’t Red Dawn do the tidy business that the eighties original it was remaking managed? Well, all sorts of reasons, chief amongst them the three year delay between filming the movie and its eventual release, and of course the fact that the cold war had been over for decades by 2012 and even the most zealously patriotic American audiences struggled to believe in the film’s threat of the Chinese military invading a small American town (yes, really).
Wait, did we say Chinese? We mean North Korean, since the filmmakers tried to change the nationality of the baddies after filming in order to retain the Chinses market. This didn’t stop the film from flopping hard, particularly given the fact that, even after these changes, it still failed to secure a release in China.
