12 Awful Films MCU Actors Want You To Forget

Remember that weird trend of hard R-rated action horrors which tried to retell classic fairy tales? No? That might be because it never materialized, despite the best attempts of 2011’s bizarrely misjudged Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters to usher in an age of adults-only children’s stories.

Starring Hawkeye himself as the titular brother alongside Quantum of Solace starlet Gemma Arteron as his sister, the film was a surreally self-serious affair which failed to mine much needed fun from its insane premise, much like the following year’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

The movie is all but forgotten despite managing to lose millions as an expensive flop which left studios trepidatious about shooting big budget R-rated action in its wake until the advent of Deadpool—because the gory action was, of course, the problem with a film called Hansel and Gretel Witch Hunters.
