12 Awful Films Star Trek Actors Want Us To Forget

5. Jonathan Frakes (William Riker) - Thunderbirds

Jeri Ryan Dracula 2000
ITC Entertainment

This is a little bit of a different entry as Picard's former right-hand man didn't star in the adaptation of the popular television series made with Supermarionation made between 1964 and 1966.

Instead, he directed the 2004 live-action adaptation, which has gone down in box-office infamy as a spectacular bomb, plagued by the pitfalls of development hell.

The finished product itself isn't quite as horrendous as it was deemed at the time - Ben Kingsley is gloriously hammy in it for one thing - but Frakes never saw his directorial career on the big screen spark again, having only directed television and TV movies since.

Something of a culture vulture, Mr Steel can historically be found in three places; the local cinema, the local stadium or the local chip shop. He is an avowed fan of franchise films, amateur cricket and power-chords.
