12 Awful Movie Make-Up Fails That Were Horribly Distracting

9. Anthony Hopkins - Alfred Hitchcock (Hitchcock)

The Desired Effect: Alfred Hitchcock. The Actual Effect: Like Anthony Hopkins has gone wild with his pocket money in the joke shop. Gone are the days when actors are allowed to just act without prosthetics in biopics, because modern audiences clearly can't get over the fact that the actor playing the subject of the film clearly isn't the actual person. You know, because we're all idiots. But there's no excuse for prosthetics that literally don't achieve anything. That is clearly just Anthony Hopkins reading Psycho with a decidedly obvious rubber nose, and not Alfred Hitchcock, so you have to wonder why the make-up team even bothered, or Hopkins endured the hours (or minutes) of preparation time needed.
