12 AWFUL Sequels That Made More Money Than Blade Runner 2049

Now, the majority of the Fast and the Furious sequels have annihilated Blade Runner 2049 at the box office, but only one of the sequels is truly, unapologetically awful.

The first two sequels, 2 Fast 2 Furious and Tokyo Drift, are something of guilty pleasures, but 2009's ludicrously-titled Fast and Furious is by far the worst entry into the franchise, a weirdly dull and oddly self-serious romp that takes the series into mystery thriller territory following Letty's (Michelle Rodriguez) apparent murder.

It's telling that this is also the final film before the series transitioned into its ultra-successful heist movie formula and re-energised itself for a much larger audience. Everyone knows this one stunk, but it still effortlessly quadrupled its $85 million budget regardless.
