12 Bad-Ass DC Movie Scenes That We Almost Got To See

1. Superman Dies - Superman Lives

Even though we've already seen Superman die thanks to Batman v Superman, it would have been incredible to see the same thing as it was originally planned years before in Superman Lives.

Based on the hugely-selling, Death And Return Of Superman comic arc, Superman Lives was written by Kevin Smith, and it was apparently excellent, despite some ridiculous demands from producer Jon Peters including the outlawing of flying, no red-and-blue costume, and a “giant spider” at the film's climax.

It was ultimately rewritten again by Wesley Strick, but he changed very little about the story, whose crowning glory was the sequence that saw Superman confronted by Brainiac and Lex Luthor, who unleashed Doomsday and watched on as he and Superman fought to the death.

Obviously in hindsight, this alternative version to the mess that came at the climax of Batman v Superman is far more preferable, as we could have had a Luthor based on Gene Hackman's performance and a Doomsday that couldn't have been as bad as the cave troll clone we ended up with.
