12 Bad-Ass DC Movie Scenes That We Almost Got To See

11. Batman's Trial - Batman: Unchained

For a long time wrongly titled Batman: Triumphant, the third planned film in Joel Schumacher's series ended up being killed when Batman & Robin ended up being terrible. And while it sounded like it could have gone the same way, there were some suggestions in the film that it might actually have been Schumacher's best Batman. He wanted it to be darker and more adult, and crucially, he apparently wanted to bring back Jack Nicholson's Joker.

According to the film's rough outline, we would have got to see the film version of video game Batman: Arkham Knight, in which the Scarecrow appeared as the main villain to torment Batman using nerve toxins and causing a projection of the already-dead Joker.

Schumacher wanted Nicholson to return (as well as The Penguin, Catwoman, Two-Face and The Riddler) to judge Batman in a hallucinated trial, to try and destabilise him and have him locked in Arkham Asylum. That scene alone should have got the film greenlit - not least because we would have got to see more of Nicholson's Clown Prince of Crime.
