12 Most Badass Monologues In Movie History

7. Bond Villains (In General): Moonraker / Goldeneye

Hugo Drax: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vcqrGANcaIQ Alec Trevelyan: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OtaQbXfrdNA From the spoof to the real thing! It's that dramatic moment in the film. The hero is trapped, imprisoned, unable to act and the gloating villain, with an almighty ego, reveals his master plan; a plan so stupendous it will make him (or her) the greatest antagonist on the planet. Ever. And like the titular hero, no villains do it better than Bond villains. Of all the many Bond villains these two are some of the very best. Michael Lonsdale's Hugo Drax monologue is a massive explosion of ego. The creator of a super race, his use of language and metaphor sums up his passionate superiority. Standing over his 'people', Drax makes every attempt to be as stupendously magnificent as his stupendously magnificent scheme. Sean Bean's Alec Trevelyan has a monologue as cold and dramatic as his character. Bathed in shadow, his encounter with Bond is a forbidding tale of terrible childhood and manipulation; we learn that the mighty MI6 used Alec as a pawn and now he wants revenge. The setting on the 'Janus scene' is as powerful as the encounter we witness; forbidding sculptures and harsh light make for a dramatic place for this deadly encounter between our hero and villain.
