12 Best Comic Book Movie Trailers Ever

4. Spider-Man (Deleted Teaser Trailer)

Another entry where some context is required. This was the original teaser trailer for Spider-Man, Sam Raimi's big-screen, live-action take on the web-slinger, which played in cinemas in the summer of 2001. Due to the prominence of the World Trade Centre, and the footage of the attack on bank, it was understandably pulled after the tragic events of 9/11.

It's since made its way online, though, and setting aside those awful reasons for why it was pulled, it's easy to see why they went with this in the first place. It's a perfect example of how to do a teaser trailer. The bank heist is thrilling, and then that moment when they're caught in some sort of net, which the camera pulls back to reveal is a web between the two towers, is genius.

Even though the heist was supposedly only shot for the teaser, it perfectly captured the tone of how you should do a Spider-Man movie, and the following shots when we get to see Spidey in action, swinging through the streets of New York, proved that you could now do the character justice on film.

The other teasers and trailers were great, in particular the one that ended with *that kiss*, but none did such a great job of introducing Spider-Man and setting the tone of the film as this one.
