Spider-Man may not be the focus of the movie, but with all of the hubbub over his recent casting, he's currently overshadowed everything else to do with Civil War. Representative of that sentiment is a simple image that focuses on Spider-Man, but reminds us of what his actual role will be within the film.
Spider-Man’s hand being gripped and pulled in different directions by Iron Man and Captain America is emblematic of the entire conflict. The symbolism is so effective, partly because there's nothing superfluous to distract from the message. There's the Marvel logo and a date at the bottom, but it's a true teaser that lets the image speak for itself.
The concept is undeniably strong but it's really sold by the photoshop work from AndrewSS7. You could hardly tell that the hands in the image come from three completely different sources, since they all blend seamlessly into one cohesive and striking image.
If Marvel's marketing campaign can even come close to replicating this type of image, then they'll be set.
