1. Supreme Leader Snoke Is Darth Plagueis - Star Wars: The Force Awakens
The Theory: This one has been in existence for as long as the mysterious Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis) has been known about by fans, and continues to prevail now that the movie is out in the wild. Yes, many believe that Snoke may be Darth Plagueis, the all-powerful Sith Lord mentioned in Revenge of the Sith by his disciple, Darth Sidious (Ian McDiarmid), who had the power to both create life and prevent death, but was apparently killed at Sidious' hand. Given that Snoke himself has a weathered appearance with a deep wound in his skull, could this not be from Sidious' attack which he somehow managed to survive? Why It's Awesome: Simply, it makes the prequels feel more relevant and tied into the new movies, especially considering that Plagueis has never been seen in the movies, and it would be a fantastic way to expand his legend. How Likely Is It?: 3/10. There's a ton of evidence suggesting Snoke isn't Plagueis: Plagueis is a Munn and therefore has a long, angular head, then there's the fact that J.J. Abrams and co. deliberately avoided the prequels and the Expanded Universe, Andy Serkis' assertion that Snoke was a new character, and that Snoke was very nearly female. But even so, given how all that's seen of Plagueis is in the now-disregarded Expanded Universe, it's entirely possible his appearance could be altered for the new movies. We shall see, but don't get your hopes up. Which 2015 movie fan theory is your favourite? Shout it out in the comments!
