Ant-Man and the Wasp features a sweet and seemingly innocuous scene where Scott Lang's (Paul Rudd) daughter Cassie (Abby Ryder Fortson) mentions that her superhero dad needs someone watching his back - a partner.

Scott immediately starts talking about Hope (Evangeline Lilly), much to Cassie's dismay, who in fact sees herself as a more fitting sidekick for Ant-Man. Scott, of course, tells her he'd be a terrible father if he included her on his superhero sorties.

But with recent rumours suggesting that Emma Fuhrmann has been cast as a late-teens Cassie in Avengers: Endgame, it seems like this cute convo is actually a cheeky nod to the fact that, yes, Cassie will probably be bailing Scott out of a hot mess when the time calls for it.

Sure, it's possible we could simply catch a brief glimpse of an older Cassie as per Endgame's suspected time jump, but given that she becomes a superhero in the comics, it'd feel like a majorly missed opportunity not to pay that off here.
