10. Independence Day: Resurgence

Inferno Tom Hanks Felicity Jones
Fox

This belated sequel was never going to seriously be any good, because if we're honest, the original is a campy cheeseball delight that skirts by on its charming cast, terrific visual effects and hilarious one-liners.

While these facets are only partially abundant in Resurgence, it's a difficult film to despise because it's so utterly, shamelessly ridiculous.

Sure, it pales in almost every way to the original Independence Day, but the nostalgia factor combined with some top-notch CGI and an hilariously eccentric Jeff Goldblum performance makes this one perversely watchable in spite of some horribly bland supporting performances (looking at you, Liam Hemsworth).

When a film features an alien Queen chasing a Goldblum-piloted school bus full of kids, it's hard not to fall at least a little in love.
