6. The Infinity Gauntlet In Odin's Vault (No Longer Matters)

It was the king of the Marvel easter eggs, the ultimate bit of foreshadowing that stood as testament to the studio's massive, long-term game-plan: in Odin's vault at the start of Thor, while the Destroyer took down the invading Ice Giants, there in the background was a massive golden glove, the Infinity Gauntlet.

Setting up Avengers: Infinity War a whole seven years in advance and playing into Thanos' shock appearance at the end of The Avengers to create this hidden, background narrative, it was an essential element all MCU theories pivoted on; the Mad Titan wasn't just teaming up with Loki, he was trying to get into Asgard so he could acquire the ultimate weapon.

However, in the mid-credits scene for Avengers: Age Of Ultron, we saw Thanos get his mitts on the mitt from a decidedly different location. Had he already stolen it? Or was this a different part of Asgard?

Kevin Feige came out with the answer, and it wasn't a pretty one; that one we'd been obsessing over wasn't the Gauntlet Thanos would use. He tried to explain it away as there being two, but you just know that the one in Odin's vault will never been seen again, taking all excitement about the detailed foreshadowing with it.
