12 Bonkers Theories About 2018’s Movies That Surely Can’t Be True

4. It Sets Up A Fourth Movie - Fifty Shades Freed

The Theory: Despite being touted as the, ahem, climax of the Fifty Shades trilogy, the film will end with a tease for a fourth movie, be it the continued adventures of Ana and Christian, or an "origin story" for Christian before he met Ana.

Why It Can't Be True: For starters, there are only three main books (the fourth is a retelling of the original book, which is pretty much impossible to adapt due to its similarity), and Fifty Shades Darker ends - spoilers, for the few who care - with the pair settling down with children, which is pretty much the least sexy thing ever, right? There's nowhere to go from here.

But..What If?: It's possible that the film deviates from the book ending and either doesn't give them kids yet, or more likely, hopes that the key demographic of middle-aged housewives might actually be up for a fourth movie where Ana and Christian try to comically juggle their kinky tendencies with having kids.

It could happen, maybe? But for sake of society's collective sanity, hopefully not.
