A big Hollywood trend at the moment seems to be casting British actors in superhero movies. DC/Warner Brothers have done it most noticeably, with Henry Cavill and Christian Bale taking up the iconic roles of Superman and Batman respectively. Marvel, however, aren't short of British talent either. From casting veterans Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart as Magneto and Professor X in the
X-Men movies to Ioan Gruffudd as Reed Richards in the
Fantastic Four movies, from Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed in the upcoming
Thor: The Dark World to Paul Bettany voicing JARVIS in the
Iron Man movies, and from Rhys Ifans as Lizard in the
Spider-Man reboot to Sir Anthony Hopkins as Odin in
Thor, British actors are really dominating our screens on the superhero and supervillain front - and I've barely touched the surface of the Brit crowd in Marvel movies with that list. Of course, Vinnie Jones also gave
that portrayal of Juggernaut in
X-Men: The Last Stand, but the less said about that the better... What this means is we're sure to see more Brits cast in superhero movies and I, for one, am very happy about that. With that in mind, here are twelve British actors we would love to see in Marvel movies - and which characters they could potentially play...
