2. David Tennant (Rocket Raccoon)
This one already seems to be in the pipeline and it's got to be said that David Tennant is surely the best man for the job.
Guardians of the Galaxy is due for release in August of 2014 and the majority of the cast has been announced already. Everyone from the titular heroes - apart from Rocket Raccoon and Groot - to the villains have been cast and it's certainly a star-studded ensemble. Chris Pratt, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close,
WWE's Dave Bautista and
The Walking Dead's Michael Rooker are amongst those confirmed and adding David Tennant to that list would really make things interesting. Rocket Raccoon is a risky character to include in the Marvel cinematic universe, so they've got to get him right. As weird and wonderful as some of the characters have been thus far, a talking raccoon armed with weaponry might seem a touch out of place. Therefore, making him too silly won't work. Tennant has that ability to be funny and dramatic without much effort, so he should do a good job of getting the balance right if he lends his voice to the raccoon. With Christopher Eccleston already playing Malekith the Accursed in
Thor: The Dark World and Matt Smith potentially making a fantastic Arcade, Tennant makes a trio of ex-Doctors who could potentially appear in a Marvel live action movie. Let's hope it happens.
