12 Cancelled Sci-Fi Moves We Wish We Could Have Seen
7. John Sayles' Jurassic Park 4
Of all the films listed here, Jurassic
Park 4 probably had the strangest journey to the screen. By the time the eventual
Colin Trevorrow directed franchise reboot Jurassic World made its way to
screens in 2015, the movie had been through countless rewrites, but at one
stage a script from Alligator writer John Sayles materialized which could have
made for the most insane instalment of the franchise yet.
A soldier of fortune would have arrived at Isla Nublar to get Dennis Nedry’s stolen DNA samples back—so far, so just about believable—before being taken captive by a secret organisation who were revealed to be breeding human-raptor hybrids with the intention of creating biological super soldiers. In the Swiss Alps, of course.
And to think, instead we got a standard “dinosaurs run amok in a theme park” flick.
