Were it not for the tragic events that took Paul Walker's life at the end of November, the plot of the seventh addition to the high-octane petrol-charged franchise could well have been significantly different, and the death of a major character probably wouldn't have been out of the question considering how the narrative incorporates Han's death. Now though that looks unlikely: Han's death will probably simply be used as a catalyst to fight back, rather than the start of a deadly escalation that would put the entire old cast under threat in a very real way. The fact that the villain is Jason Statham would fit that idea, but now reality has changed fiction, and it seems more likely that the villain will be the only big death in the film. There has been a lot of talk about the film getting a happy ending in honour of Paul Walker and it seems unlikely that that can mean anything other than an old fashioned villain slaying by the end.
