12 Comic Book Film Adaptations Stuck In Development Hell
11. Rogue Trooper
Unfortunately, the poor box office performance of Dredd may have derailed the possibilities of other lesser-known 2000AD properties being made. This is a thoroughly frustrating scenario, especially when you realise that the marketing failures which damaged Dredd are not only having an impact on Dredd 2 but a whole universe of other properties. There is of course still hope that word-of-mouth, Blu-Ray and streaming figures will do enough to convince there is enough interest to make Dredd 2 a viable property. So in that regard there is also at least a slim hope that it could also prop up projects such as Rogue Trooper. The last time we heard anything official about the status of Rogue Trooper was when Grant Morrison said that he had written a treatment for Sam Worthington's Full Clip Productions in 2011. There has been no word since, and it would have to be presumed that if the producers can't find a way to make the epic-sci-fi-war piece budget friendly, then we are unlikely to see Rogue Trooper any time soon.
As well as the odd article, I apply my "special mind" to scriptwriting for Comics, Films and Games... Oh and I cut down trees, I skip and jump, I like to press wild flow'rs, I put on women's clothing, and hang around in bars.
