11. Big Daddy (Kick-Ass)

Nobody deserves to die in the way that Big Daddy AKA Damon McCready died in 2010's Kick-Ass - he was set on fire whilst tied to a chair - but especially not a man who devoted his life to being a professional costumed crime-fighter. Played by Nicolas Cage in the movie, Big Daddy was ambushed in one of his safe houses, along with the titular Kick-Ass, by the henchmen of crime boss Frank D'Amico. D'Amico's men attempted to broadcast the death of the two heroic vigilantes on the internet, but Hit-Girl - Big Daddy's daughter - managed to interrupt their plans by using night-vision goggles to attack the henchmen in the dark. It was enough to safe Kick-Ass, but the criminals still managed to set Big Daddy alight. Although Hit-Girl was able to put the fire out while her father was still alive, he died from his horrific injuries. What a horrible way for a hero to go.
