10. Gwen Stacy (The Amazing Spider-Man 2)

In 2014's The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Gwen Stacy died when she fell from a clock tower during a fight between her boyfriend Peter Parker - AKA Spider-Man - and the Green Goblin. Granted, her death was similar enough to her famous comic book death that it can easily be considered a tribute to the source material (she was wearing exactly the same clothes for goodness sake!), but that doesn't make it any less brutal. Not only was Gwen a nice girl who was fighting the good fight by assisting Peter, she was also the best character in the franchise and, had it continued, it wouldn't have been the same without her. Moreover, it was awful seeing Emma Stone - one of the nicest people in Hollywood - being killed like that. She should have lasted longer. An honourable mention should also go to Captain Stacy - her father - who died helping Spider-Man battle Lizard in the first Amazing Spider-Man offering. Even if he was generally a bit of a dick.
