12 Comic Book Movie Characters Who Deserved Better Deaths
5. Frigga (Thor: The Dark World)
Having been something of a wallflower for the entirety of 2011s Thor - her first appearance in a Marvel Cinematic Universe film - Rene Russo's Frigga proved to be something of a bad-ass in 2013's Thor: The Dark World. Odin's wife found herself confronted by the main villains of the movie - Malekith and Kurse - and fought valiantly. She looked highly adept in combat when facing Malekith in a sword fight and, even when the hulking Kurse got a hold of her, she wouldn't give Malekith the information about the Aether's whereabouts that he desired. She was killed when Kurse plunged a sword into her. After putting up such an awesome and unexpected fight against Malekith, Frigga didn't deserve to killed in such savage fashion. She was a good woman with a good heart and she unconditionally loved Thor and Loki, in spite of the latter's sins. Her death was certainly honourable and she did herself proud, but she definitely deserved a better one.
