11 Comic-Con Announcements The Fanboys Would Love

9. Joseph Gordon-Levitt Finally Confirmed To Direct & Star In The Sandman

The Announcement: After almost two decades and various attempts to get it made, the latest effort to bring Neil Gaiman's The Sandman to the screen is finally confirmed, with Joseph Gordon-Levitt to star in and direct the picture. Why It'd Be Awesome: Gordon-Levitt has been linked with the movie for a few years now, though his level of involvement has always been kept rather vague. Confirmation that he's going to appear both in front of and behind the camera would go a long way to bolstering fan confidence that the film's actually going to happen. How Likely Is It?: 4/10. Well, it's certainly not impossible, and would be a killer way for DC to capitalise on the lack of Marvel movie presence this year, but given the project's troubled history, don't be shocked if it's yet another fallow year for the highly-anticipated adaptation.
