8. Grizzly II: The Predator
The Premise: A sequel to the successful 1976 horror flick Grizzly, Grizzly II: The Predator starred then-unknown actors Charlie Sheen, George Clooney and Laura Dern in addition to John Rhys-Davies as they were terrorised by an 18-foot tall bear. The climax of the film reportedly takes place at a rock concert, with the titular beastie arriving to raise hell.
Why It Never Got Released: Grizzly II was filmed in 1985 but never released after executive producer Joseph Proctor allegedly embezzled the film's remaining funds before scenes involving an animatronic bear could be filmed. The bulk of the movie had indeed been shot, and it's only in recent years that reports of the movie's hellish production have come to light. For starters, the director of the original movie, David Sheldon, was supposed to direct the sequel, but without his knowledge, Proctor flew the other cast and crew members to Hungary to shoot the film and hired the presumably cheaper unknown filmmaker André Szöts. When some scenes didn't work, the movie's caterer was tasked with re-writing them, the bear effects kept failing, and there was tension on the set when Dern was asked to perform a nude scene and refused. A 97-minute working print of the movie eventually
found its way onto YouTube, though be warned: Clooney, Sheen and Dern are only in it for about five minutes a piece.
